KD10

Short path distillation in a stainless steel pilot plant with 0.1 m2 wiped heating surface. KD10 units are suitable for a throughput of up to approx.
20 l/h at evaporator temperatures of up to 250 °C and pressures of up to 10-3 mbar.

 

KD10 Basic Version

The KD10 is our most popular pilot plant for short path distillation. It is ideal for process development and small-scale production. The unit is highly flexible and can be used for the distillation of both high and low viscosity products as it is fully heatable. The KD10 distills continuously. Standard configuration:

  • Heatable feed vessel (10 l capacity) equipped with a feed pump
  • Degasser
  • Evaporator (incl. corresponding heater)
  • Vacuum system
  • Cold trap (to be filled manually)
  • Cut measuring vessels and feed pumps for distillate and concentrate
  • Reaches working pressures down to 10-3 mbar

1 - Suction Lance

The suction lance incl. a small vacuum system for the feed container enables continuous filling of the evacuated feed container directly from the vessel in which the feed material is provided (e.g. from canisters, drums or IBC containers).

2 - V-Tab Smart Distillation Control

Tablet control with interface to all temperature control units, pumps, sensors and the vacuum system as well as a weighing system for distillate and concentrate.

3 - Mass Flow Meter in Heatable Design

Precise and continuous feed flow measurement.
This option is only available in combination with V-Tab.

4 - Feed Transfer Pump

A pump between the degasser and evaporator, which replaces the standard siphon installed at this point.

5 - Concentrate Cooler

Additional heat exchanger at the concentrate discharge for rapid cooling of the concentrate. Of particular relevance e.g. in distillation processes in which the concentrate is the valuable product and reacts sensitively to prolonged exposure to heat.

6 - Cooling Coil Insert for Cold Trap with Cooling Unit

Continuously cooled plug-in cooler eliminates the need for manual coolant replenishment.

7 - Roots Vacuum Pump

Replaces the standard oil diffusion pump.

8 - Wiper System with SKR Wipers

SKR Wiper System that comes instead of or in addition to the standard roll wiper System.
