Evaporators of UIC GmbH are operated in a pressure range below atmospheric pressure, i.e. under vacuum.

The operation pressures of Thin Film Evaporators are mostly above
1 mbar, while Short Path Distillators are mostly operated in a pressure range between 0.001 mbar to approx. 1 mbar.

These pressure ranges can be achieved by distributing the material to be distilled as a thin film onto a heated surface. The Basics of Film Distillation are described separately.

Frequently the evaporators are equipped with Pre-Degassing Stages in order to separate any gas or small amounts of solvents contained in the feed material.

For the operation of the evaporators, Secondary Devices are required, which have to be selected specifically for each individual distillation task. Also in this area we are offering you our know-how.
